USD 481 FACILITY USE APPLICATION - Approved by the Board 7-13-26
Administrative Guidelines for use of School Facilities
District facilities shall be available for use when approval is granted. School district sponsored activities will take precedence over all other activities.
Nonprofit/Educational Groups
The use of district facilities by nonprofit/educational groups shall not be charged a user fee if the time of use is when:
An Employee is on duty.
Approved adults supervise the group.
The activity does not conflict with school functions.
1. The principal of each school is authorized to approve and schedule the use of school facilities. Any denied requests may be appealed to the Superintendent.
2. Written application must be completed and permission granted before the requested date of facility use.
3. The principal may authorize a responsible adult to sign out a key to use the facility at a time when a custodian or an employee is not on duty.
4. The adult who signs out the key must be in attendance at all times and is responsible for the care of the building, the supervision of ALL the people using the facility, and CLEANUP. Users of school
equipment and school facilities shall assume all responsibilities for damages.
5. Rental fees for outside organizations and individuals shall be paid in full prior to the issuance of a facility key.
Youth and Adult Sports Teams: A one-time seasonal facility use fee of $50.00 shall be assessed. Upon completion of the season, $25.00 of the fee shall be refunded provided the facility has been left clean, all trash has been removed, and participants have remained within their designated areas.
Admission-Charging or For-Profit Events: A facility use fee of $100.00 shall be assessed for any event that charges admission or is conducted for profit. Upon completion of the event, $50.00 of the fee shall be refunded provided the facility has been left clean, orderly, and free of damage.
6. The User Group agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the school, its board, employees, and agents from any and all claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising out of or resulting from the use of the premises. User Group must comply with all local, state, and federal laws as well as school policies and procedures.

Paraeducator - full and part-time positions may be available
LOCATION: Rural Vista school district - Pre-K through high school in Hope and White City schools.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Provide assistance in implementing plans and programs related to academic or functional skill attainment for students with disabilities, observing and documenting student progress and/or behavior, and ensuring the safety and welfare of students. Work days students are attending school (approx. 170 days/yr.)
REQUIREMENTS: Must enjoy working with special needs students! Strong communication and interpersonal skills. In addition to a high school diploma or equavalent, must obtain a passing score on the state paraeducator assessment, or have a minimum of 48 college hours, or have a post-secondary degree. Employment subject to drug screening, physical exam, criminal background check and TB screening.
DUTIES: Provide support to classroom teachers, instruction of students with disabilities and other classroom duties as needed.
PAY: Starting base pay $14.42/hr
BENEFITS: Full time employees are eligible for BCBS health insurance. KPERS retirement.
