The Rural Vista Varsity Volleyball team had a killer season.
At the beginning of the season, Rural Vista was ready for a great season, putting in the work on the court at practice, and off the court in the classroom. The hard work paid off. This year the girls had an amazing season, finishing the year with a season record of 28-12.
Three of the 28 wins were from the regional tournament, at Herrington Kansas on October 20th. The girls had lots of momentum going into these games, defeating all three teams. After the win at regionals they would then move onto the Sub-State tournament, held in Centralia. The girls knew this wouldn't be easy, but were ready to compete. The first game was played against Northern Heights. Rural Vista took charge and finished the game in 2 sets. Next, they played Centralia, and this proved to be a competitive game. Although they didn't win, the spirit was there, with lots of cheering on the sidelines and in the bleachers.
The team had 3 seniors: Molly Hunnicutt, Ellison Reidy, and Kaitlin Parker. When asked, Molly told us about her season. She said “Winning regionals was definitely the best feeling and moments from all the years I've played, and it feels good getting a big win before my last season is over.”
The faculty and students are so proud of the girls for completing a great season. We can’t wait to see what else these athletes have in store.
Thank you to our coaches Adam Sobba and Makenzie Boltwood!
