Our newest teacher is no stranger to White City.
A local to our area, Ms. Mindy Stilwell is from Skiddy, KS, and is now the Junior High Social Studies teacher at White City Schools. Ms. Stilwell is also the assistant High School Girls Basketball coach. Ms. Stilwell says, “White City Schools is very special to me!” Ms. Stilwell is in her 10th year of teaching.
Importantly, Ms. Stilwell is making an impact here in White City. She says that the impact she wants to have for her students is to hope they learn how to overcome anything life throws at them. She states that the most challenging thing about teaching is how time consuming it is. Stilwell says that teachers put in more time than observed.
Coming back to where she began, Ms. Stillwell was very happy that she had the opportunity to teach at the school that she grew up at. For her education, she stayed in this area too. Ms. Stilwell tells us that she went to college at Fort Hays University.
In addition to teaching, Ms. Stilwell loves coaching too. Her favorite part about coaching is watching the athletes succeed when they don’t think it’s possible.
Would you follow in Ms. Stilwell’s footsteps and become a Social Studies teacher?
