Unfortunately, White City is losing its High School Science teacher.
Recently we found out that our science teacher Charles Boggess is earning a deserved retirement. We wanted to find out how Mr. Boggess feels about his upcoming retirement.
We started with a tough question, “What are you going to do after you retire?” He told us that he "Hasn't decided yet.”
We wanted to know if he would ever come back. He told us it's very possible that he could. Mr. Boggess has been teaching for about ten years in total.
We wanted to know about his favorite memory. Mr. Boggess told us that on the high school side one of his classes had a fun science experiment. He is going to miss Kaimey and Kim testing clock reactions. For the Junior High, he's going to miss the Kidwind team.
What’s he going to miss most? He told us, “When I am able to help a student understand something better.” What lessons has Mr. Boggess taken away from a career in teaching? He says, “Teaching takes a lot of time and energy. I get to work with amazing people who give a lot back to society.”
We wanted to know if there was anything else Mr. Boggess wanted to share. Mr. Boggess left us with a motivational message. His last words are: “If I can leave the world a little better than I found it in some way, I am good with that, and teaching is one way I have tried to do that.”
We wanted to know if Mr. Boggess would miss his classes. He said that he would indeed miss his classes. White City will miss him too!
Thank you, Mr. Boggess, for your time!
