Rural Vista Boys Basketball season is racking up more wins.
On February 3rd, 2026, the Rural Vista boys basketball team played Peabody-Burns in Hope.
We decided to interview Nabar Valbuena, a Senior exchange student at White City High School. Nabar comes from the Basque country in Spain. While he’s here, Nabar has been playing on the Boys Basketball team.
We asked him about his hopes for the game. For him, success depends on trying hard all of the time even in practice. He said, “I hope we play well and don’t lose because they are a decent team.”
Rural Vista won the game over Peabody Burns, 72 to 32. JV also won their game.
After the game, we asked Nabar how he thought it went. According to Nabar , “The team had too many turnovers and could play harder defense. He said, “It was an easier game but we still could have played better but I’m still happy that we won by forty.”
The Varsity starters were Kole Reidy, Tucker Mien, Celian Van Bemten, Grant Ekeldson, and Tyler Brockmeier.
The boys are coached by head coach Adam Sobba and assistant coach Chris Kremeier.
