Winter Concert a Hit!

White City School music students entertained a full house with
beautiful Christmas music on Tuesday, December 4. The high
school choir opened the evening's festivities with four selections
including: The Bells, Lo How a Rose E'er Blooming,
We Three Kings, and Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree
~ a crowd favorite as the choir members coaxed audience members to
do a little rockin'!
Next up was the junior high choir performing Ring the Bell, It's Christmas Time and Christmas Here We Come. The junior high band entertained with Three Christmas Carols and Linus and Lucy.
The second part of the program featured our young K-5 musicians. Each group performed an original composition for which the students wrote their own lyrics and music. The first song listed for each group is their original composition. Fourth and fifth grades delighted the crowd with Christmas Feeling and Here Comes Santa Claus. Second and 3rd grades performed Christmas is Coming and Great Big Stars, accompanied by Mr. Schierling on acoustic guitar. The first grade sang Magic Star and Mail Myself to You ~ another crowd favorite of the evening. The kindergarten class closed the program with their performances of Happy Christmas and We Wish You a Merry Christmas, with the audience joining in for the last verse of We Wish You a Merry Christmas.
It was a delightful evening featuring the musical talents of our students under the direction of Ben Schierling. Although a cold evening, everyone left the concert with hearts and spirits warmed by the performances of students.
