Rural Vista Art Students Win Awards

Scholastics Art Show 2008

The winners for the 2008 Scholastic Arts show were announced January 29th. This is an annual show that includes the eastern one-half of Kansas (70 countries) for fine arts. The Wichita Center for the Arts is this year's host gallery. Over 3,000 entries were received this year for judging, with only 300 of those entries being retained for exhibit. The Rural Vista art students entered 27 works and walked away with 11 awards. Award categories include: Gold Key, Silver Key, Honorable Mention, and Exhibition Award. 

The American Visions Nominee Award is a prestigious honor that is awarded to only five students whose artwork has received Gold Key recognition. These five "Best of Show" works will be judged in New York in special category, one of which will be recognized on the National Level. Those winning recognition for their submissions were:
