Exciting Science

Middle School Science has hit the ground running this '08 Semester beginning with new units in each of the middle school grades.
6th Grade: We're having fun looking at the complex and "disgusting" world of fungi, protozoa and plants. We will be building models of simple single-celled organisms in the coming days.
7th Grade: 7th grade is investigating the fascinating and challenging world of Sound and Light waves. Today the 7th grade class made an "infrared" image called a thermogram of our classroom. Now we know why one side of the class-room is always cold!
8th Grade: 8th grade has begun to delve into the incredible world of the human body! They've created life-size posters of themselves with a correct diagram of the major organs in their bodies and we've investigated how the pepsin in our bodies must have acid with it to help dissolve protein. We did this experiment with Egg White and some simulated gastric juice.
Keep reading at later dates to hear more about what's going on!
